Battery Testing And Maintainance Procedure

First we need to see initial voltage of the battery normally 6V battery if you charge fully it will charge up to 6.8V.

If connect 1A load than voltage should get down up to 0.4 to 0.8V Not more than that if is getting down more than that than there may a problem with battery.

If Voltage is got down by 0.4 to 0.8V than there may be a charging problem than you ask customer how many hours he is charging if he is not charge properly guide him to charge properly I.e. up to 6 to 8 hours than only it will give proper back up.

At the same time we have to check charging current how much charging current is drawing by battery depending up on battery terminal voltage it will varies.

If battery is drawing current from the adaptor you can say 100% battery is ok.

Do not over discharging a sealed lead acid battery when it is in use to avoid over discharging stop using the battery whenever the voltage drops below 5.25V ( The 6 v battery ) Otherwise the battery life maybe greatly shortened.

When the battery is not in use, it should be charged timely for next use. If the battery is continuously used and can supply no more electricity, then user should charge it up as soon as possible to keep a longer life.

Do not store near hot places nor expose in sunshine.

Do not charge the battery in a sealed container.

Avoid short circuit of battery .When the battery is not in use, it should be charge.
